Mario's Galactic Adventure Teaser Arrives, Unveiling Fresh Faces Rosalina & Bowser Jr. Voice Cast

Nintendo alongside Illumination released the debut comprehensive teaser for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie this Wednesday. It was showcased in a dedicated Nintendo presentation that centered on the soon-to-release cartoon movie.

The follow-up to the successful 2023 release The Super Mario Bros. Movie, this new installment will propel Mario to the far corners of the galaxy. There, he will encounter a different royal figure and a challenging new adversary in Bowser Jr., the son of the King of the Koopas.

A Space-Faring Quest Inspired by Classic Games

Similar to the Wii-era games that provide its foundation, Mario will leave behind the well-known surroundings of the Mushroom Kingdom to journey through the cosmos. During his grand adventure, he will meet again some well-known personalities, such as the Luma, a breakout star from the previous film.

Yet it looks like Mario and his brother Luigi will confront a new threat in the form of Bowser's angry little boy, who apparently commands metallic abilities. Worth mentioning, the teaser for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is not solely focused on visuals from the Galaxy games; it also features references to other beloved games like Super Mario Odyssey and Bowser's Fury.

Star-Studded Voice Cast Returns and Expands

The movie will feature once again of the primary vocal talent, including Chris Pratt as Mario, Anya Taylor-Joy as Peach, Charlie Day as Luigi, Jack Black as Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, and Kevin Michael Richardson as Kamek.

New additions to the ensemble for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie are Brie Larson, who will portray Rosalina, and Benny Safdie, set to play Bowser Jr. The casting was verified by Chris Meledandri, the chief executive of Illumination.

Mario's Major Moment

Mario's latest cinematic adventure is planned to debut close to the 40-year celebration of the initial Super Mario Bros. release. Apart from the cinematic release, 2026 is shaping up to be a significant year for Mario and his allies.

The company has a set of three fresh titles publicly declared for 2026, featuring Mario Tennis Fever, a version for Switch 2 of Super Mario Bros. Wonder, and a latest Yoshi adventure game titled Yoshi and the Mysterious Book.

Premiere Date Announced

The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is planned for launch on April 3, 2026.
